Groundhog Day. It’s one of the most popular non-holiday holidays, if you will. A pudgy little critter lumbers obliviously out of his cozy den where the world awaits his prediction of the impending weather. While it’s not as scientific as many would hope, it’s still a day that is listed on nearly every U.S. calendar.
Three years ago, we wanted to start a Day of Giving at York Country Day School to counter the doldrums of winter — a day of excitement dedicated to our favorite fuzzy critter at YCDS — Flash! Think red-and-grey rowdiness, pom-poms, special snacks, spirit swag, and lots more.
Then, BINGO! Why not create hoopla on a day that repeats itself for an event that will continue to help our community for years to come? (Thanks, Bill Murray!)
Thus, HOUNDSGIVING was born.
On February 2, we will host our third annual Houndsgiving event at York Country Day School to support the annual fund. Check out the numbers:
This year, our goal is 250 donors!
This day is about much more than just a goal, however. The York Country Day School Fund provides opportunities for students to pursue their passion and explore their curiosity with the tools needed to do so.
Keep an eye on your inbox and our social media pages found here and here, where our community members share how the Annual Fund touches every corner of our community from pencils and art supplies to music sheets and robotics tools. Change the life of a student, enhance the community of a school, impact the world of tomorrow by providing the funding for today.
In just 9 days, be sure to visit www.ycds.org/giving or send your gift to 1000 Indian Rock Dam Road, York, PA 17403 for February 2. Only gifts on this day will be counted. Remember, every gift matters. Every gift counts. Join us today!
