“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
–William Arthur Ward
This year, our students engaged in the first-ever Thank-a-Thons at York Country Day School. Our Upper School students volunteered three times this year to call and write donors to the York Country Day School Fund.
As most independent schools, our tuition dollars off-set the operational budget line for our day-to-day activities from supplies and books to electricity and heating/air-conditioning. Our Annual Fund plays a significant role in contributing to covering those necessary expenses. Therefore, the generosity of our donors — parents, grandparents, alumni, community members, students — brings a Greyhound education to life. You are the reason our students continue to experience this extraordinary program.
Our students understand that giving back to any organization is a vote of confidence in their work from the food pantry to school to church. Nonprofits depend on the philanthropic kindness of others, and we are one of those nonprofits.
We thank you for your participation this year!
Gratitude is a currency that we can mint for ourselves, and spend without fear of bankruptcy.” Fred De Witt Van Amburgh
